Aquatic Biologist
Eric Rahm joined ESI in March 2008 after completing his Master of Science degree at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee. Mr. Rahm has managed or assisted on field projects in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. He is also responsible for project and administrative tasks including, permit acquisition, GIS map preparation, report writing, proposal development, and lab sample processing. His previous experience includes working with the Missouri Department of Conservation where he assisted state biologists with freshwater mussel, fish, and crayfish studies. He has worked on recovery and monitoring projects of several threatened or endangered species in Missouri, Kentucky, and Tennessee. His thesis project involved determining the spatial distribution of adult and juvenile freshwater mussels and examined their relationships to both simple and complex hydraulic microhabitat variables within a mussel bed. His taxonomic expertise includes mussels, fish, and crayfish. Mr. Rahm is SCUBA, EFR First Aid/CPR, and DAN Oxygen First Aid trained and has training in ArcGIS 9.1. He is a member of the American Fisheries Society, the Freshwater Mollusk Conservation Society, and the International Association of Astacology.
